Born in Germany in 1987, Steffi grew up in Schmalkalden, Thuringia. After many years in Berlin and extensive travels around the world, she eventually returned to Thuringia, where she lives and works today at her studio, Greykat Tattoo. Her work is rooted in realism, with a particular fascination for faces, expression and emotion, but often moves into darker, more surreal territory. In her oil paintings, she explores mysterious figures, spirits, nature and the mystical, drawing inspiration from mythology, old stories and legends, travel, and the natural world. The same atmosphere carries into her tattoo work. Working primarily in black and grey realism, she creates dark, haunting imagery with a subtle surreal edge.
